Crinkled Ribbons

I had seen some beautiful ribbons in photos and wanted to purchase some to use and discovered that everyone was making their own! Well, I went ahead and ordered some seam binding and tried it and goodness, what an easy and rewarding project! Tammy Tutterow has a video on her blog (http://tammytutterow.typepad.com/)  that you can watch and learn how to for yourself. I highly recommend it.
These tags were embellished with some of the ribbon I made but it is super easy to make whatever color you would like. I also made pink and a darker red for my vintage album (below).
God bless...

New Vintage (style) Album

This album was really fun to work on! It is made of paper bags that have been sewn down the middle.
Then holes are punched along your sewn "binding" and ribbons are threaded through, and tied. I usually create the cover of the album, front and back, first.

The pages are then decorated as you wish...

This one is made from three bags, 8" wide at the bottom. Finished, it is almost 8"x8".

The ends of the bags that are open are used as a pocket that encloses a pull-out for more photos.
I also usually add a number of pockets inside the album for keepsakes and whatnot.

Add lots of details for pretty pages in whatever theme you choose.

The pages with no pocket on the side I open up the top with an exacto and then use them as a pocket also. I line the pockets with paper to make sliding the pull-outs in and out easier.

This is one of the pull-outs. If you do a layout for each side you can add photos to each side. I am all for more pictures!

This album uses mostly Graphic 45 papers, Prima flowers, ribbons, some Prima rhinestones, pearls, and some pretties I purchased on ebay!
I hope your day is truly blessed. ;oD
Hugs!

puppy love...

Cookie
Jake (helping out in the yard.)
I thought I should introduce you to two charming members of our family, Cookie and Jake. Cookie joined us about 9 or 10 years ago and Jake was adopted in February. Cookie is the alpha female of the family, a Basenji-terrier mix. Her main job is holding down the furniture and chasing away any polar bears or "wicked kittys" that come into the yard. Jake's main job is chasing passing toes and nibbling and harrassing Cookie.  We think he may be a beagle- dachsund mix, but really aren't sure. They are quite a team and love to spend lots of time rough-housing, chasing one another and generally being best friends.

A new chapter in my life...blogging!

I can't say that I am not terrified at the thought of posting my thoughts for all the world to see, but it will be fun to share some of my work! ;oD I have really enjoyed looking at the work of so many others that it will be fun to become a part of that.
These tags are a set I made and have posted on Etsy. I love the colors and images, I really like the vintage look.

I used :
faux pearls in a latte color
a pearl flower from Jenni Bowlin in pink grapefruit
 Prima roses
some vintage images from Crafty Secrets Creative Cuts
rub-ons from Fancy Pants
 glass baubles
 ivory satin ribbons
the papers are from my scrap box, but I believe they are MME.
Have a wonderful day~
