I thought I should introduce you to two charming members of our family, Cookie and Jake. Cookie joined us about 9 or 10 years ago and Jake was adopted in February. Cookie is the alpha female of the family, a Basenji-terrier mix. Her main job is holding down the furniture and chasing away any polar bears or "wicked kittys" that come into the yard. Jake's main job is chasing passing toes and nibbling and harrassing Cookie. We think he may be a beagle- dachsund mix, but really aren't sure. They are quite a team and love to spend lots of time rough-housing, chasing one another and generally being best friends.
