sorry it has been quite a while!

I just have not had much time at all to create! I did work this week on a two page layout. It has been a very long time since I had done a layout so this was lots of fun!

A lot of things I used are from Basic Grey's new line Persimmon. My favorite is the wooden die-cuts. They are really like wooden tags, balsa wood I believe (but I am surely no expert!). I found them to be curled slightly and that was sort of a pain, but once glued down to the card stock they are fairly flat. They are a fun design element.

This Autumn tag is one of the pretty wooden tags from Basic Grey.

All of the elements on these pages are just an interesting collage of things I have collected and saved. There are lots of shoe sized boxes all over my desk filled with oodles of little found things. They find their way into a layout every once in a while. A new home!

Christmas in July!

A design group that I belong to is having a Christmas in July event and this is my contribution...

Dear Santa

This was fun using some cute October Afternoon papers from several years ago... cute!

I went to look at my blog today and everything I have done since April is GONE! Nice. I suppose somewhere out there in internet land there are the rest of my postings.
ANYWAY...   I have a new album to show you and it is a totally new type of album for me. I had seen examples of these on ebay and was terrified to try it. It was a LOT of work but the result is amazing! I have created a book! An honest to God, real book! It is a pretty simple concept but I made a few miscalculations on some lengths but in the end it turned out quite well. The new paper line Plum Seed from Webster's pages was calling my name (I love the colors!) so I used that. The results were pretty good!

Well if you get a chance to watch it,  I found a video explaining more about the process on youtube (by Kathy Orta).
Have fun creating!

And a new album! You are My Sunshine in bright cheerful colors!

I was wanting to make a bright album suitable for either sex, that would work for a number of occasions, and was FUN and full of picture places! I think this just fits the bill!
Thanks for taking a peek!

A couple of cards today...

Pretty colors, pretty details! I love the colors in both of these, soft, sweet pastels, FLOWER colors!!! And laces and ribbons...all things soft and feminine!

I lined the envelopes, a very easy thing to do and it adds such a pretty touch. I have to say I really use my Scor-pal a LOT when I am making cards, it make the folds so much easier. I debated the expense, but it makes cards so much easier and it has gotten a lot of use. It was a great buy!

and back to my vintage favorites...

roses, soft colors, delicate details, and all of those antique looking pieces that add up to a luscious combination! The papers are a mix of Prima and Pink Paislee mostly, the colors: pastels, the mix of details: whimsical and fun!

I just love the way this turned out! I never know when I am working on a piece exactly what will happen and how it will end up. I find bits and pieces as I go along. I also collect things from my everyday life that end up in my work. On the first set of pages there is a small charm of leaves, that piece arrived on a candle I purchased at Home Goods! You never know what will inspire you! I find little doodads at Home Depot and Lowes, where ever I go I am on the lookout!

don't fall over.... I have a new post! Sorry for the huge gap, I have been under the weather AGAIN. Yuck. I caught the darn flu ( I NEVER get the flu!) and it turned into a rather amazingly awful case of pneumonia which once again landed me in the hospital, this time for a matter of weeks. Anyhow, God is good, I am recovering and mostly better!
I have two new albums I have finished and will be posting on Ebay today. Both are in pinks and greens (my favorite!) and yet are very different! The first... is very girly, with lots of lime green and hot pink!

I am not usually a lavender nut, but these are such pretty clear colors I really like them! I used washi tape for the first time too and I am hooked! I added it to my store because it is FUN! And the variety available is astonishing, solid colors, stripes, patterns, florals (my favorite, of course!), just about anything you can imagine.
The next album has a more vintage vibe....in a more subdued set of pinks and greens....

This was made with a Graphic 45 Envelope Album. I think they have been discontinued, I haven't been able to get any for quite a while. It is a mini album, 4.5x6 and was fun to do! I made a pull-out tag for each envelope and used as many photo mats as I could considering the small size of the album. The papers for this one are mostly Bobunny... love the colors!
Thanks for taking a peek-
May God Bless you richly!
